Tools and data I work with
I analyse datasets large and small. My work is always transparent and reproducible.
Tools
R and RStudio for data analysis and visualisation.
GitHub for version control.
QGIS for exploring geospatial data.
D3.js for data visualisation on the web.
While it’s not my tool of choice, I also have a lot of experience using Excel for data analysis and economic modelling.
Data
I work with many different kinds of data including cross-sectional data, panel data, time-series data, geospatial data, and unstructured data.
Process
Whenever possible, I write code that produces all analytical results directly from raw data, with no manual manipulation. This makes all data manipulation transparent and reproducible. I am always happy to share my code files with my clients and I do not maintain “black box” proprietary models.
